Sun Tzu

Sun Tzu was a Chinese military general and philosopher who wrote The Art of War. Scholars currently think that he was born Qi while the Shiji states that he was a native of Wu. Both sources agree that he was born in the late Spring and Autumn period and served the King of Wu. The Art of War presents a philosophy of war for managing conflicts and winning battles. It is accepted as a masterpiece on strategy and frequently cited and referred to by generals and theorists since it was first published, translated, and distributed internationally.

    mmkay, i heard of this. Random question: so with technology the way it is these days (long range laser & satellite guidance), the general lack of standing armies (as they existed in Sun Tsu's time) would his ideas still work today?
